A bit of housekeeping, a surprise - and surprisingly successful - public facing video, and some behind the scenes work on the house starting with the stripey wood veneered panels over a chimney breast.
As mentioned in the video, my apologies for any confusion regarding the notification emails that have been sent out; the midweek videos ahve supposedly been for members on a paid subscription for a little while, but it appears that the notification emails have been going out to everyone, so until we find a solution to this the email notifications won't include a direct link to the video, but will be contained in the body of the blog post.
Thanks everyone, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Peter
After Peter kindly supplied me with some measurements for Stripey wall panels, I've been able to progress my Sketchup drawing.
Hopefully, this week, I'll be able to start cutting 😁.
Hi Peter, Not sure if you have seen this but, having seen your practical way of obtaining a modern feature wall and as the owner of a lamello, this link might provide another way of making a 'stripe' wall feature without access to the panels you have!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFN9YHMe5KI&t=0s. ha!ha! Jump to the final minutes to see the result 'a pain in the butt" to quote the maker.
With note to the first part of the video I have always wondered a little how the view counts are impacted by where we watch the videos. I have a paid plan but figure if I can trigger a YouTube view as well as the plan all the better for you and the content!
with the stripes wall I half expected one of those it just needs a trim cut and then is 3” short moments!
Hi Peter, catching up on this one 😁, been a busy week.
I am currently building a large floor standing cabinet and wanted to use a similar "Stripey" effect on it.
I've actually bought some Oak veneered Black cored fibracolour and was going to cut that into strips, then glue each strip onto another sheet of black fibracolour to give the same effect.
Because the Oak veneered board has Oak on both sides, I wondered if I could cut the strips and then cut down the centre of each strip on the table saw to make two oak face strips from one if you see what I mean.
Do you have any specifications on the stripey boards you bought so…
looking good, will you be filling the gap between the top of the cupboard and the ceiling?
