Text of the post is below. Thanks all!

I've been trying to get into the new space each day and do something physical to it and this week it was getting some string lines onto the floor to give me a better idea of how far out it really is - quite a long way as it happens, but only on one side...

I also wanted to get some paint-on damp-proofing down in the corner that's prone to a touch of damp, but also on the walls above - which is where the impact driver came it. I haven't owned one for years and I do think they get over-used, but my £60-ish Makita 18v brushless did a great job taking some old rusted screws out of the brickwork, and the paintable DPM went down a treat - thanks so much to Graham for the Permagard recommendation.

Next task is the ceiling, then the lights, and then I really want to get the floor sorted before the landlords sparky can come and do the rewire.

There was disappointing news about the Professional Woodworking Expo (formerly the Materials and Finishes Show) as they've changed their dates to mid-June, which doesn’t work out for me unfortunately. As I think I’ve mentioned before I was there at the last show and had been due to have a stand this time with Leo from Singlehandedly Made and Mark from Start Making (woodworking) so we're now a bit footloose. There's Makers Central in May, but that seems to be shaping up to be a shadow of its former self - again - so, we'll see how it goes. I may end up just being a Makers Central foot passenger popping up to Birmingham for the day again.

I’ll keep you posted on that, and everything else as it all unfolds, but for now enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll see you midweek!

Thanks all! Peter
