Midweek 141 - more folding step stool

Hey everyone.

Back with the folding step stool and I fear I was a little over-ambitious with the tapered legs; oh, and 'pro tip' - always make sure the drawings you're referencing from are the current ones! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Doh!

In other news, there's no further development at the moment regarding the member subscription - other than to confirm that it is only the annual subscription plans that are affected - so for the moment I'll just ask that you wait until you receive the 'your membership will expire soon' email, then you can renew or let it lapse - just bear in mind that if you do let it expire then you'll need to sign up again as the renewal option wont be available.

As always, I'll keep you posted as any further information becomes available, thank you all so much for being here - for *still* being here - and I'll catch up with everyone at the weekend as usual.

All best for now, Peter

Peter - I think you said you were going to comment about MFTs and squareness etc. in one of the member videos - did I miss that or was the discussion delayed with the Wix debacle?

A shimmed out shooting board could do these angles with out using a table Just the addition of a plane.

Thanks Kevin. I’ve never had a lot of success hand planing plywood, but I’ll keep it in mind! šŸ‘

Nice to see you make mistakes too šŸ˜€

On the tapered legs, a trick that Garrett Hack shared with me one time was to only taper the outside of the legs. That way the angle is constant all the way down on the inside. It makes the joinery simpler.

Cheers Paul. I just preferred the look of an inside taper, but perhaps I need to look at it the other way as well! Live & learn, eh? šŸ‘šŸ‘
