Oak and Birch ply drawers; too good for the workshop? [member edit]

For all 10MW Plus members

In this one I make some workshop drawers with oak fronts - eventually! Honestly, it’s a shaky start but we get there in the end - enjoy!

The free 'Drawer Box' factsheet is included in the next newsletter!

Factsheets are available to ATB, MO and BTS members in the plans and downloads section of the forum now, and to all 10MW Plus members in the newsletter section when the newsletter is published.

Peter - do you recall where you got those little plastic boxes for your screws etc.? Searched on Amazon but no luck. Cheers.

It’s a trade off isn’t it? The screws come in their own individual packages - just all sorts of size and shape. So for the cost of maybe 5 drawer fulls, you could buy little plastic containers, just to look better . . . That’s when the cheap fly’s out of me.

The oak looks really great Peter 👌 and it's good to see that even you can have a flush of 💩 to the brain like us mere mortals 😂🤣

Good looking drawers, I quite like the oak! That drawer plan PDF is really helpful and I'll be putting it to use in the near future. You didn't forget the yellow packer at the top right of the drawer when you were moving stuff over to the new drawer did you (probably not, lol)?

Thanks Paul! Ha! I was wondering where that yellow packer went! 😂👍

Looking great. It's nice to have throw-away wood to be able to be used in a project. And nicer wood at that. Like the comment about 'not throwing away birch' plywood. So correct. I just build a small-to-medium wood storage cart out of birch plywood. I kept every piece of scrap. The sheet was also a 'potato chip' so I got a discount on it. No problem, it's going in a shop project, so an unexpected bow here, and bend there, whatever.
