Hi everyone. Just a quick one, and in response to member Nial Stewart's question about the correct size t-track for eg Festool rail clamps - it was easier just to post a quick drawing, which is NOT to scale!!
This is essentially 3/4" x 1/2" (external) t-track, with 1/2" x 1/4" internals, but hilariously an 8mm mouth 🤷♂️ I bought the lengths I have from Rutlands many years ago, and have only just got around to using them!
A rail clamp will fit inside the track perfectly, and the walls of the t-track are thick enough for the clamp to clamp to the track, and not to itself; longer-term members will remember this was an issue with the Ikea curtain-track idea.
The DashboardPWS rail hinge and front rail support will fit this profile, thanks to the 8mm t-bolts they use, but the Festool rail hinge and front support will not fit this profile, as it isn't deep enough accommodate the thicker t-bar that the Festool supports have.
Hope that makes sense! More to come on this - I'm still gathering bits and pieces, and will hopefully have a quick round-up at the weekend!
All best for now, Peter
Looks like this is the same T-Track at Rutlands, judging by the measurements - https://www.rutlands.com/sp+jig-making-t-tracks-t-tracks-t-track-83mm-x-1000mm-pack-of-2-rutlands®+r8002x2
