A Week In The Workshop 126

Hi everyone, and welcome all. Been a bit of a slog this week, working on the ‘basic build’ shelves - still haven’t finished those, hopefully today, fingers crossed. It’s been a bit of a ‘short sharp shock’ kind of week, working with a very restricted toolset, and that’s definitely been a contributing factor withe these shelves; just having the one drill/driver for example, almost doubles the length of time it takes to put screws in, because you have to change the drill bit for a driver each time.

So, slow progress, but progress, at least. I’m thinking this ‘basic build’ series may be part of a course I can offer; it’s certainly shaping up to be long enough! Basic shelves, cabinet, door, occasional table, stool, maybe a chair? A Wardrobe? Wo knows, there’s certainly lots of options!

I’ve had a couple of samples of the first production run of the Loose Tenon Jig Plus in, and it’s looking fantastic; they’ll be available this week, I believe - we’re just waiting for some packaging, and then they’ll be good to go. I’ll keep you posted, as always.

And also arriving this week I’m told, is a pre-production sample of the Benchdogs rail hinge; this looks very interesting, and if you haven’t seen it then it’s well worth taking a look; I’ll link the video up below.

Anyway, I need to crack on and get these shelves finished - thanks everyone for your amazing support, and I’ll catch you in the week as soon as I have some news.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and take care. Peter
