Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good week and are having a great weekend. I spent the week completely stalled on getting this new store up and running - currently thwarted by EU VAT IOSS numbers - but everything is in place otherwise.
I bought the smallest rail square I’ve ever seen this week - as you’ll see - but otherwise this video is all about Steven Bird’s wardrobe question regarding how big his doors should be - or more importantly, how big should the gaps be between the doors!
Fingers crossed I’ve explained it well enough, and if not, feel free to ask follow-on questions here or in the forums.
Thank you as always for your amazing support, and I’ll catch you mid-week sometime. Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Peter
I brought a similar rail square on Aliexpress a while ago. Not square when I got it but now much better. Came to use it for trimming a door as new carpet was rubbing and found the cutouts would not fit a guide rail clamp on my one 😟. Need to get the file out when the weather is a bit warmer and see if I can get it to fit as will be more useful like that.
As the doors were not square I was just using it to help judge the cuts and get it more square.
Very good practical video Peter. The planning stage is so important and this is all about beginning with the end in mind.
I bought a similar rail square from Bangood last year. As shown in the image above, it does seem to have more possibilities with all those additional holes but I’ve yet to explore those.
Had a look at the squares on Amazon and they do look handy if smaller but I’m pretty sure the 340mm versions will suit. How do you square them if necessary?👍
Cheers Peter, excellent as always and another very handy 10MW ready reckoner.
