So a bit of an experiment this, as I mentioned a couple of weeks back; an audio version of a video, but including the sound effects - so like a 'dramatised' reading, or a radio play.
Just trying something out, this is mostly the soundtrack from the video so there are areas where the lack of visuals have a negative effect, but these can be overcome if the idea has any merit; if you have the time, give it a listen and let me know.
Thanks! P
Hi Peter.
Whilst I like the idea of a podcasty type thing, it needs visuals to make it work.
Sorry Peter, tried the format but lost me after 3-4 mins. I won’t be listening again.
Unfortunately Peter, I have to agree with quite a few other people, at first I found it quite interesting for the first few mins.
Then, I started to lose interest as some of the audio needed visual references to make sense and keep my interest.
I listen to the "Workshopbanter" podcast quite often, which because of the content doesn't seem to require any visual content to make sense.
However, even with that, I still like to listen AND watch on YouTube to see their expressions when discussing certain subjects.
Hope this helps, but probably not what you want to hear.
Peter,
Not quite what I envisaged. My thinking was towards a manual for the use of things like the latest loose tenon jig. An audio only version of an actual project is lacking in the visual references.
Using the jig for the first time, setting it up and then putting it to work while hands on is more what I had in mind, when you first mooted the idea.
My two pence worth - for what it is worth.
Hi Peter, different but unfortunately for me not a winner, visuals win over sound for me, but might suit some others. Keep up the good work and see you in front of the camera next time.
Cheers
