What’s the Point of a Joint? [member edit]

As I mentioned in the previous video I’m drifting towards a couple of small projects that involve a little bit of basic joinery, and in the run-up to that, I’m trying to plan a couple of videos that help explain the process; there’ll be a ‘Which joint when’ type of video, and probably a ‘5 basic joints and how to fake them’ but in this video I want to try and explain what it is we’re trying to do by joining a couple of pieces of timber or board together. Enjoy!

Thanks John. Yes, next one is a 'which joint when' type of video with examples. 👍

Very interesting, looking forward to these. I also thought the blue tape trick was a clever way to show the glue area 👍

Excellent start, looking forward to the next! Using the blue tape as a demonstration of glue area is genius.
