All the best for your son Peter - very poignant message on Father's Day - hope the new medication works out. After the chatter about this on UKW as well, I re-watched your 'why this saw?' video. Interesting that at that time, the availability of the small Axminster table saws was the sticking point. Admittedly the 10" is still on back order, but the 8" is now available and after your long wait as well.... I doubt the Axminster dust collection will be as good as the Festool though, but for a fair bit less money even with the sliding table extension added on and no battery faff, plus standard mitre slots etc, I think the Axminster would be a better…

Yes, the iron if the ‘availability’ comment wasn’t lost on me James! 😂 As I said in that video though, I had the previous generation of the 8” Axminster saw and was underwhelmed - I wouldn’t buy it again, and those kind of sliding tables and side extensions are exactly what I’m trying to avoid, too. But yes, if dust collection and portability aren’t priorities, I’m sure they’d work well. 👍

Had the saw a week and already making custom accessories for it, love it! Very interested to see what you make with it in the future.

Great video. As always the Bluetooth batteries are simple to connect just press the button on the extractor and start the saw and the batteries will connect have you got the batteries on the festool app it tells the battery percentage and if the batteries need updated for some reason I wasn’t sure about the saw at first but the more videos you do on it the more I’m thinking about buying it 😂

Thanks Derek. Yes, I saw that on a video that the batteries are easy to connect. I never bothered with the app - always seemed a bit pointless, but that may actually be useful with the batteries. And it’s a great saw, if you can live with the capacity. 👌👍

Morning Peter,

Smashing little video this both enlightening and entertaining. I think i may delay my purchase until the mains situation is addressed and updated.

Thanks also for sharing that insight in to the family Millard. I hope that your sons new medication settles down and improves his situation. Parenting is just a life long commitment isn't it?

Morning Richard, and thanks! The saw’s really good - the most accurate I’ve ever owned, probably, so no excuses now! And yes, I’ll be watching that Sautershop development with interest.

Thanks, it’s the first time my son has had any kind of reaction to the meds, just need to figure out what triggered it. And avoid that! 😂 👍

Great video as usual, I like the fence feature.

I don't want to DeWalt give away, but if you do the table saw give away, I am in 😀🤣
