Hi all; a genuinely quicker catch-up this week, chatting about why pre-orders on shopify are such a great idea, and also a question for you folks about some potential 'alternative' content.
Let me know what you think.
Best, Peter
With regards to the audio content, I'm sorry I haven't a clue if it would work well but I think if you tried it for just a minute and ensured it was snappy - you know, without any hesitation, deviation or repetition then it might catch on. Perfect for the summer holidays on the beach or time on the tube with no internet - watching the stations fly by as I visit my friends on the Northern Line - getting on at Charing Cross and off at Mornington Crescent. (But in all seriousness, a summer series of audio content would be great, hard to watch video when sunbathing and I often listen to your videos whilst working as well)
The Jig certainly looks good. I would certainly order one if you had not sold me on the Domino before you started developing your Jigs - not that I regret buying the Domino. I use it for lots of things beside joints.
I can see a use for the audio guide as a verbal instruction manual talking you through using the jig - no visual distractions - just hit pause between steps …
Congratulations on the finalization of the new loose tenon jig! If you're interested in pursuing an audio version, go for it, I'd certainly listen. Better to regret what you've done than to regret not doing/trying at all. I definately wouldn't mind to have more Peter Millard content!
The new jig is very nice 😀 If I haven't invested in the unspeakable Festool machine, I'd definitely buy one!
I'm patiently waiting for the dog-hole jig...that's the last thing my newly build workbench needs 😉
A 10minuteworkshop "radio play"?!...I usually listen to podcasts when I'm in my workshop, but a narrated build-play sounds intriguing!😃
Happy to hear a test of your audio only output. I’m not sure if it will work but I’ve just happily watched (listened to) 11 minutes or so of head and shoulders and arm waving and so I think it might work on a more focussed topic.
On another thing… I’ve now retired to my shed but I spent a career managing stuff, some in building things, and I’d suggest not letting your builder push back site meetings. If meetings are in the plan then they should do them, if only to explain why there isn’t enough to report in the site meeting! You may be able to unlock a delaying item if you know more about it. Good luck!
