Hey everyone. I was running some general camera tests and thought that some of you may be interested in these; if you follow anyone in the photo, video, tech or blogging sectors on YouTube you’ll have noticed a flood of ideas about the Insta360 Go 3, a new Go-Pro alike action camera that genuinely has some unique features; I’ve been getting less and less enamoured with my GoPro 9, so thought I’d give this little guy a try, and these are the first thoughts.
Let me know how the video and audio appears to you.
Thanks! Peter
Interesting video Peter. Image quality from all the cameras very good although the colour rendition from the Lumix shades it for me. Perhaps the lens is just a touch too wide to be used for general shots but for close up detail it would be great.
Having worked in "telly" for 35 odd years (retired and doing woodwork now!) it always amazes me the size of cameras now compared to the "hand held" ones when I started. And the cost!
Hi Peter, I have just tried a magnetic base in the workshop and the planer body is metal as is the bandsaw and bandsaw table. That little gizmo should also fit onto a plane iron for some interesting pov shots.
Hi Peter, I have got the Insta 360 X3 which, while being a 360 camera, also can be used with either the front or back lens lenses individually. Really pleased with it and the editing software is great to use. The other units that I have just received are the Feiyu Pocket 3 with its inbuilt tracking and the Home steady M6 Gimbal for my phone, which gives the ability to start and stop with gestures.
I enjoyed this one (like I don't usually!). Interesting to see the image flick between the three. It does show off just how crisp the GoPro video is compared to some "softness" of sorts on the usual camera and it highlights just how much difference the angles, mics and EQ etc. make. I've mentioned before the invisible but invaluable difference those little things make in your videos compared to others and it's on show here. The new camera would be handy for the top down shots or some ride-along the saw stuff. Also, I have a metal shed for a workshop so this might be something to consider!
"Distinctly uncomfortable suppository..." ?!? 😱 That little camera does look rather interesting. The wide angle would be roughly exquivalent to about a 20-25mm lens on an SLR?
