Some great tips there is the makita splinter guard a softer rubber than the clear festool one the festool one isn’t very flexible i can remember when the festool splinter guard used to be black also festool recommend that when joining the guide rails to leave a small space between them in case the ends of the rails aren’t square

Peter, this really put a wet blanket on my plans to build a submarine from 18mm Birch Ply next year! Heading out to the shop to check my splinter guards...

Great video Peter. If only you had shared the tip about not worrying about square before you sent me to the Benchdogs site.

Quick question that just occurred to me. Is it better for you if I like a video on YouTube or here in the 10MinuteWorkshop site. I’m thinking it has more value in the YouTube domain as far as the recommendation algorithms are concerned. Maybe I should just do both.

I always watch the videos on the main channel - more views = more reach, more ad money and prefer reading / interacting with the comments on there (although as you can see, I also come here for the comments as well :D)
