Hi everyone; bit of a longer one this week as there’s some ground to cover on the #extractor / boom arm / basic #RouterBench questions.
Links to the #BoomArm products I mention are below just as an FYI
TL;DR - I’ve tidied up, I’ve been playing with the Chestnut Spirit Stains - more to come on that - I’ll probably be shooting the router bench video next (the Sauter Router swap-out, not the basic build) but it’ll come out after the gift ideas video - I don’t have all the products that I’ll be featuring in the gift list vid yet, but it’s an easy one to shoot.
I’ll probably publish the Gift List early for the members - just the list, not the full vid - as these tend to be quite popular and items can sell out, so this way at least you’ll have first dibs on anything of interest, OK?
That’s it for this week, thanks so much to Joe, Paul and Matthew for the questions, thank you all for your support, and for being here, and I’ll catch you in the next one.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thanks for the vid Peter, interesting you don't use "cyclones" to filter the dust out and keep the vac bag and filters clear?
on the router build i have mounted a T4 into a table with a dedicated plate as the plunge depth is not great and with a 20mm top the depth is not good at all and with dust extractor nozzle almost impossible to change bits. the 850w is sufficient for everything i have asked of it both handheld and now as part of the router table. interestingly I also used the lab jack which i find works very well.
Hi Peter, I use my CTL Midi 2 for everything apart from my thickness planer, for which I use a dedicated 100mm chip extractor. Do you use one of the Festools for your Ebauer thicknesser, or do you also have a dedicated 100mm extractor tucked away, which you did not cover in the video?
Thanks Dawn
Hi Peter, Built a router table with one of those adjustable platforms but in my hands it was a bit 'inaccurate', this would be described as my basic build - clamped over the edge of my MFT table. Next build was a self contained unit using a small hydraulic jack as the lift system. Final iteration was a screw lift using threaded rod, guide rods and bearings which works really well. I put an extension on the router chuck which has an interchangeable chuck for most sizes of router bit. Cheers Rob
Just cooking the tea whilst watching this and thanks for the mention Peter. I’ve got a review of the Trend T33A on my channel. Think for the money it’s one of the best value for money extractors out there (and it has power take off👍).

Peter - For a boom arm have you seen the one from Woby Design? https://www.woby.design/shop/the-woby-camera-jig-digital-files
I bought his plans and have built a couple. One for use as a bench light with a small camera light panel and another for my band saw to make an adjustable light for that as well. They work really nice and you get a project out of it as well that you can replicate as needed.
